A somewhat “untypical” end of January day at the MGC traps. The weather guessers forecasted freezing drizzle starting in the morning and developing into snow. Well, that didn’t happen. A light mist was present around 3 o’clock but it certainly didn’t hamper the shooting. Low 30’s for temperature but with a 14 mph wind with 26 mph gusts from the east. Coulda been worse.
The conditions didn’t stop Scott Steffen from putting up the two top scores of the day. A 48 backed up with a 47, and with the only two 25 straights for the day. Great shooting Scott.
Two dates to take note of. Next Sunday, February 7th, IS the rematch date for the Crown Royal Border Battle. It will be held at the Hudson Gun Club. The event will run from 10 AM to 4 PM. It will pretty much be the same program that we do at MGC. Shoot as many times as you want, only 1 of your scores will be eligible for the combined score.
On February 13th, MGC will be hosting our annual Valentines Jackpot Shoot. The first 10 25 straights will get you a heart shaped box of chocolate for your sweetheart. One per shooter. We’ll also have a nice piece of jewelry that will be awarded to a lucky person that entered the event 3 times or more.
