A cold, damp day, with an east breeze, made it feel colder that the 29 degree that it was. But there was lots of CHILI to warm everybody up!!!
There was traditional chili, chicken chili, Italian sausage chili, chili blanco with apple smoked bacon and more, of whatever temperature you could imagine. To make it even better Suzy Switala made some outstanding corn bread muffins and Jimmy Brand topped it of with his world famous Lemon Meringue Pie. The judges, our scorers, went through the line, voted and there was a tie between Mark Cameron and Jimmy Bowen. There were 2 different judges that went through the line and Jimmy Bowen’s chili was voted “best”. It was all great food and everybody went home with a full belly. Thanks to everybody that entered and brought food to share. It hit the spot on a cool January day.
With the chili competitors came the clay target competitors. Lots of shooters, lots of classes and NO repeat winners. It doesn’t get any better than that.
